The Walk

Hello Friends,

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I can't say it enough. Saturday was unbelievable. I am still trying to absorb it all.

Thank you to every sponsor who donated their time and money to this event.
A special thanks to Stephen Landry and Danny Landry at The UPS Store on Johnston Street near South College. They helped Team Katie with all their printing needs!

I couldn't believe my eyes when I rounded one of the corners in Girard Park and saw the line of people behind me. I kept turning my head back and forth. I remember saying to myself, WOW! All of these people are here for me!!  I wish this accident had never happened, but it did and I can't change it. I will say that this has restored my faith in God, in people and in the human spirit.

I am truly honored and humbled that I was able to share this experience with so many wonderful people. Thank you again for everything!

    Katie,
I enjoyed visiting with you at the wedding Friday night and hearing the strength in your voice, your honesty about how you are coping, and your resilient spirit that I don't know if you realize is such a gift! I know that in times like these, having people to relate to you is key in healing and moving forward. The day after I spoke with you, my friend and I were talking about you and other similar situations and she told me about a book she is reading that she thought would maybe give you even more hope and faith. It's "90 minutes in Heaven" as well as the sequel, "Heaven is Real" both by Don Piper. She called me again tonight and said I really needed to pass this on to you. I hope you find it inspiring...especially since you'll probably be writing your own book one day :). I'm praying for you.
